First-Year Orientation Dates

It is mandatory that freshman students attend their scheduled New Student Orientation session in its entirety. 

Please note, all schedules are subject to change. Be sure to check your new UNF email and myWings for important orientation registration and admissions announcements.

Spring 2025 First-Year Orientation Dates

Nov. 22, 2024 (On Campus) Dec. 6, 2024 (On Campus) Dec. 19, 2024 (Virtual)*

Please note: The Admissions deposit will need to be paid prior to registering for an Orientation session.

* There will not be a coordinating Parent and Family Orientation session for Virtual New Student Orientation.

After paying your admissions deposit, confirm your attendance to UNF by registering for your New Student Orientation.

Begin completing your First-Year New Student Orientation Checklist. You'll want to give yourself time to complete this, so don't wait too long!

First-Year Orientation Overview

UNF's First-Year Orientation is designed to provide you with key tools and resources necessary to have a successful academic career at UNF. Registering for and attending First-Year Orientation is a requirement for all incoming first-year students.

  • What to Expect
    • Find Your Flock - Connect with your Orientation Leader, who will guide you through orientation. As one of UNF's top current students, they are prepared to answer your questions. You'll also meet other new Ospreys!
    • College Sessions - Meet faculty and staff from your college and learn about the transformational learning opportunities available to you. It's a great way to get involved outside the classroom.
    • Academic Advising - Meet your academic advisor and discuss your degree goals, course selection and plan for your first year at UNF.
    • Academic Support - Hear from Student Academic Success Services (SASS) about tutoring, peer-guided study groups and other services you can use to help you thrive in in the classroom.
    • Course Registration - After meeting with your academic advisor, we'll teach you how to enroll in classes and help you register for your first term at UNF.
    • Life as a UNF Osprey - Learn all about what makes UNF unique. We'll teach you our traditions, introduce you to organizations and clubs and discuss the recreational perks of being a UNF Osprey.

  • Online Pre-Orientation
    Your smooth transition to UNF is our highest priority! We have created a mandatory Online Pre-Orientation to help you learn about UNF and introduce you to important information, resources, and policies before you participate in your first-year New Student Orientation. This Online Pre-Orientation is available now. Please refer to your UNF email for the link and more information.
  • Next Steps Guide Course

    To assist with your transition to UNF and help you complete your First-Year New Student Checklist, you will be given access to the "Next Steps Guide For New Students" course in Canvas, within your myWings account. This will occur within 24 hours of registering for New Student Orientation.
