Important Update!
Recently, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security published a final rule establishing a fixed period of admission and a new extension of stay process for F students and J exchange visitors. The rule is scheduled to take effect on September 15, 2026.
To help you understand these changes and how they may affect your F/J status, the International Center has developed an FAQ.
