Deferred pay accrual (DPA) takes place in the first 20 pays of the deferred pay cycle. Paychecks during this period will reflect both regular (REG) and deferred pay accrual (DPA) earn codes. DPA represents the portion of your check that is set aside in your deferred pay accrual account, for payout in the last 6 pays of the cycle. The last 6 pays of the deferred pay cycle is called the deferred pay payout period (DPO). Paychecks during this period reflect deferred pay payout (DPO).
