How to apply...
Step 1: Be admitted to the University of North Florida
To apply for the Hicks Honors College, you must be an undergraduate student who has already applied and been admitted to UNF.Step 2: Fill out the Hicks Honors College Application
For current High School students or recent High School graduates, including dual-enrolled High School students, complete the Incoming Freshman Application. For current UNF students or new transfers to UNF who has completed at least one semester as a full-time college student, complete the Current UNF/Transfer Application. If you have any technical issues regarding the Application portal, please reach out to slate@unf.edu.

Log into the UNF Application portal using the same, personal email and password as used for your UNF admissions application.

Fill in all required fields

Upload letters of recommendation (optional)

Submit your application
Step 3: Upload additional materials
If you were unable to upload your letters of recommendation when you submitted your application, sign into the Application portal, select View under "Other Applications", and upload them to your Hicks Honors College application via the Checklist tab.
Step 4: Check your application status
Once you have submitted your application, check your UNF email and the Application Portal for updates to your application status.
Step 5: Complete Honors orientation and registration
Once you have received confirmation of your acceptance to the Hicks Honors College, register for Honors New Student Orientation.
Application Deadlines
Incoming Freshman
Once you have been accepted to the University of North Florida as a First-Time-In-College (FTIC) student, apply before the deadline to enroll at the Hicks Honors College for the upcoming Fall semester. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so applying early is recommended to avoid capacity limits.

Current UNF & Transfer Students
Current UNF students and incoming Transfer students may apply to the Hicks Honors College for Fall, Spring, or Summer admission. Applications that are received after a deadline will be reviewed at the next application close date for enrollment in the following semester.

Honors assesses a one-time Honors Experiential Learning Fee of $150 ($75 for transfer students) at the beginning of your first semester in Honors. This fee helps to fund Honors experiences from matriculation through graduation. Your support helps provide valuable opportunities, but you may ask to opt out of this fee.

The Hicks Honors College does not accept delayed admissions for Incoming Freshman. First Time in College (FTIC) students applying for fall admission must participate in the Honors fall semester Retreat and Colloquium experiences.

Current UNF students must have a UNF Institutional GPA to apply (thus, as early as their second semester at UNF) and can apply for admission for the subsequent academic term.
