International Students' Testimonials
I chose UNF because it seemed like my best option, it looked like a big, but not huge school, which for me meant I would be able to meet many people and not feeling lost while doing it. I also chose it because it was in Jacksonville and it seemed like a nice place to live. But the main reason I chose UNF is because gave me the best scholarship comparing to others. The LAC scholarship is the reason why I was able to come here and accomplish my dream of studying abroad. UNF campus is so pretty, there is a lot of green and nature, and things also look very new, it is also very walkable. The professors I’ve had so far are very nice, and the classes are also good. In general I am very grateful I came to UNF, I like the campus, the weather and the environment.

I chose UNF because from the very beginning it was the university that showed the greatest support, effort, and personal attention in guiding me through the application process, which made me feel truly valued as a student. UNF is affordable compared to many other institutions, offering not only generous scholarships for tuition, but also opportunities for research and study abroad. The campus is beautiful, perfectly located in Jacksonville, just minutes from the beach and the Town Center, with a unique mix of nature, modern facilities, and walkable convenience. The academic environment is outstanding, with supportive faculty, strong student services, and countless opportunities to get involved. Socially, it is incredibly welcoming, I feel like I meet a new friend every day, and I truly couldn’t see myself anywhere else.

I chose UNF because I wanted a high-quality education in a beautiful environment. The campus offers a unique mix of nature and modern facilities, and being close to the beach was a big plus for me. As an international student from Latin America, paying for a U.S. university was really challenging. Thankfully, the scholarship I received made it possible for me and my family to afford a good amount of the costs. Additionally, working as a Student Internal Auditor in the Internal Audit Office has been an incredible opportunity—it helps me cover part of my expenses while gaining valuable experience. UNF’s campus is stunning. I love going for runs and enjoying the natural landscapes here. Safety is also a priority with emergency buttons and well-lit areas make me feel secure everywhere on campus. The academic experience is excellent. Although UNF is a large university, many classes are small, allowing professors to give personalized attention and support, improving your learning and overall experience. The social environment positively surprised me a lot. At first, I thought that as a Brazilian student, it would take time to make good friends here. However, the reality was different; in my second week at the university, I already had a lot of friends. Mainly because of the Brazilian club (BRASA) and the soccer club team, with whom I could connect with a lot of new people from different cultures. I liked the university so much that my girlfriend (who is also from Brazil) is planning to also come here in the near future (Fall 2026), and I would love it if she had the same experience as me and be able to receive the same support.
