Jacksonville Teacher Residency Programs

Innovative. Mentorship Driven. Collaborative.

You always thought you'd be a great teacher... here's your chance! The Jacksonville Teacher Residency (JTR) offers exciting undergraduate programs designed for juniors and seniors in elementary, secondary, preK primary, exceptional student education, deaf education or music education. This year-long service-learning experience offers an incredible opportunity for aspiring educators who will complete their field placements in a high-need classroom in Duval, St. Johns, or Clay County, while receiving a living stipend and other valuable benefits.

The UNF Jacksonville Teacher Residency AmeriCorps Program also provides Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) teacher candidates an opportunity to serve in a high-needs classroom while completing their teaching certification in elementary, secondary or exceptional student education. MAT Residents apprentice for a full year (August - June) with a master teacher while enrolled in one of UNF’s MAT Licensure programs.
