Dutton Schilling Scholarship

Students eligible for this scholarship must:

  • Meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida;
  • Enroll full-time as undergraduate students with at least 12 credit hours in the fall and 12 credit hours in the spring semesters;
  • Reside in Florida for tuition purposes;
  • Demonstrate part-time employment of at least six hours per week (any location) while enrolled in courses;
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA);
  • Demonstrate financial need as defined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid;
  • Have a Homeless Tuition Waiver or a Department of Children and Families Tuition Waiver; and
  • Preference will be given to students who either were or are clients of JASMYN or Port in the Storm Homeless Youth Center and who produce documentation from one of the two agencies. 

Students awarded this scholarship must also agree to: 

  • Maintain a UNF GPA of at least 2.8, once enrolled in The Nesting Place program;
  • File FAFSA form with the federal government each year; 
  • Comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus;
  • Consent to release grades to the Division of University Development and Alumni Engagement for the purpose of reporting to the donors;
  • Agree to meet with the donors at least once per academic year; and
  • Remain in good standing as a student.
