Research Enhancement Plan

COAS full time faculty including TT and NTT

 

Competitive, either a budget for a specific research project or course release. Program is funded jointly and equally with ORSP, department and college. Awards are both monetary award($1500) and a course release October 2 5-10 awards
Jim Van Vleck Teaching Excellence Award  COAS "pairs", one tenure-earning faculty member earning "exceeds expectations" and one tenured faculty member $3,500 for the mentee and $1,500 for the mentor, for creative or research needed for promotion, excluding faculty stipend.  Three-course releases taht can be taken in one semester or spread over several semesters.  A minimal service load to successfully apply for promotion.  October 2 2 faculty pairs
Eisen Experiential Learning Grant Tenured/Tenure-track and Non Tenure-track faculty $2,000 March 27, 2024

Research, Scholarship, Creative Activity Excellence Fund RSCA active tenure track and non-tenure track faculty, recognition of published monographs, papers in high impact journals, significant external grants, prestigious artistic competitions. These are given to those faculty who have been  recognized at the ORSP STARS ceremony in the spring. However, some other stipends, such as top artistic competition stipend do require an application  Open access fees, the stipend amounts vary between $500 and $1000 Deadlines vary, some awards do not require an application, some award applications can be submitted anytime.  Please see webpage.

Undergraduate Research Scholarship and Creative Activities (U-RSCA) Grant  Undergraduate students engaging in UNF faculty-mentored research Funding for materials, equipment, software, and travel will be awarded to undergraduate researchers (up to $1500) and their mentors ($500) Applications will be accepted twice each academic year on October 15 and February 15.  If these dates fall on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will be the following business day ~10 awards in fall and in spring, for a total of ~20 awards
 Conference Presentation Travel Award Applications accepted from individual undergraduate researchers who have been accepted to present at an off-campus conference Funding for registration fees, lodging costs, travel, and meals will be awarded to undergraduate researchers (up to $500) who have been accepted to present at a conference Applications are accepted on a rolling basis but must be received at least four weeks before the travel date ~20 awards in the academic year
