This course goes beyond conventional wisdom, offering a comprehensive exploration of neuroscience, lifestyle choices, and cognitive techniques that can supercharge your cognitive abilities and promote lifelong cognitive vitality.
Hypnosis for a More Vibrant State of Being
Hypnosis allows you to access the subconscious mind to change and improve your feelings, thoughts, and actions. This workshop explores what hypnosis is and how it works. You experience hypnosis yourself through two hypnosis sessions. In the first session, you concentrate on increasing your feelings of well-being, energy, and confidence. In the second, you choose a personal positive change, as specific or general as you want, to work towards. The sessions are conducted in such a way that no personal information needs to be given in the group.
Practical Self-Defense and Awareness
The ability to defend yourself is not a mysterious secret requiring years to master. In Practical Self Defense and Awareness, you will develop strength and confidence in protecting yourself against potential danger. Each class session covers a diverse system of practical, proven, self-defense techniques, weapons, and strategies for personal safety and protection. This system includes powerful street self-defense, unarmed weapons defense, defense from the ground, and effective use of tools found in your everyday surroundings and environment. Learn how to protect yourself with confidence.
Yoga for a Peace of Mind
Whether you desire simple stretches for improving flexibility or strength-building postures to stave off osteoporosis, a regular yoga practice benefits both body and mind. Yoga for a Peace of Mind will teach you simple yoga postures that will help stretch and strengthen your body while connecting you to your breathing. The instructor guides you through relaxation techniques, incorporating home furniture as props. Then, repeat what you learn in class and continue to practice at home. Please note: Students are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat and a towel.
Introduction to Tai Chi
Discover the physical and mental health benefits of tai chi. In this introductory course, learn tai chi instruction as you build a complete routine that includes standing calisthenics, traditional tai chi elements, and seated moves you can practice at your desk. In addition to the stretching and balance exercises, learn deep breathing techniques that promote relaxation and relieve stress.
