Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate

Certificate Description 

This certificate includes the seven courses in the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) approved verified course sequence. Content offered in this certificate is consistent with the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) 5th Edition Task List. Student who complete the coursework required for this certificate will have completed the educational requirements needed to apply for the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam under Pathway 2. To be eligible to apply to sit for the BCBA exam, student must also hold a Master’s degree and must complete supervised fieldwork.

Courses are offered primarily in face-to-face formats. Master’s degree and supervised fieldwork ate not included in the certificate program.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the certificate will be able to:

  • Identify and explain philosophical underpinnings, concepts, and principles in applied behavior analysis
  • Identify and apply the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysis to ethical and professional scenarios in clinical, research, and educational practice.
  • Identify, explain, and implement behavioral assessment and intervention strategies with accuracy and fidelity.
  • Identify and apply strategies for behavior measurement and data collection with accuracy and fidelity
  • Identify and explain evidence-based and best-practice behavioral strategies for supervision and personnel supervision.
  • Explain and analyze graphical data displays from experimental single case research designs to determine the effects of behavioral strategies.
