10 Steps to Become a UNF Osprey

Welcome to the University of North Florida!  We are so happy you are considering on becoming an Osprey. Below are the steps to help you:

1. CONTACT MVRC:  Contact the MVRC as early as possible to access support, benefits, and resources.
   
   
2. APPLY TO UNF: Apply through the UNF Admissions website.
   
   
3. APPLY FOR BENEFITS:  Apply for VA benefits at va.gov OR Apply for TA and/or EDD benefits through your branch’s education portals.
   
   
4. TUITION WAIVERS Check and see if you qualify for an in-state tuition waiver.
   
   
5. ATTEND ONBOARDING: Attend the MVRC dedicated onboarding orientation and learn about available support.
   
   
6. ACCESS ACCOUNTS: Log in to your myWings portal, Canvas dashboard for classes and UNF email (Note: All emailed sent from UNF offices will for to you UNF email.)
   
   
7. GET ADVISED AND RESISTER FOR CLASSES:  Get advised and registered for classes. (Note: All military-connected student receive early registration or first time slots.
   
   
8. SUBMIT RFB: After you register, Submit a Request for Benefits (RFB) via your myWings portal.
   
   
9. USE RESOURCES: Take advantage of the support at UNF like the MVRC study space, coffee, free printing, and community.
   
   
10. STAY INFORMED: Follow us on social media. Join the Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter at UNF.
