As an admin, you can use Engage UNF to support meaningful engagement between students, faculty, staff, and community partners for academic and professional development.
The Admin Support section is designed to help you support student success by providing guidance on key administrative functions. You can host events within your group or course, coordinate messaging and outreach, monitor student participation, verify experiences, and contribute to a more connected UNF. Whether you are a student administrator, faculty, or staff, this space will provide you with supporting materials including FAQs, links to training videos, and step-by-step resources to help you navigate and expand your use of Engage UNF.

Troubleshooting Engage UNF

Getting Started with the Platform

Do you need help locating and understanding the Engage UNF admin dashboard?
As an administrator, you will have access to your group or course dashboard. Navigate to the group or course you would like to manage, either through the “Manage” dropdown in the top right personal navigation bar, or through the public page of your group or course, then click the blue vertical “Manage” button on the left side of the page. From this page you can review your users, events, and impacts.
We also recommend reviewing the Managing Groups training video. This video will introduce the platform interface and provides an overview of the ways admins can manage users, events, and impacts. After watching this video, you will be able to navigate the admin dashboard and the platform tools available to administrators.
Groups

Do you need help managing or configuring your group or course on Engage UNF?
Navigate to the dashboard page of the group or course you would like to edit. Click the “Edit Group” page from the left side menu to edit the content that is publicly displayed (depending on the level of privacy for your group). You can also configure the look and feel of your display page by clicking the Customize dropdown, then selecting Look and Feel.
We also recommend referring to the Managing Groups training video if you have additional questions. This video walks through steps to update your group information and settings. After watching this video, you will be able to edit and customize the information that your group displays publicly, including your group’s “look and feel” and the steps for adding Search Keywords and Causes.
Users

What if you are the faculty of record and you identified an error in your course roster?
If you are a faculty member assigned to a course and you discover an error in your student roster, please contact our office directly at engageunf@unf.edu. As a faculty administrator, you will not need to add, invite, or archive students because the class roster will automatically sync, and the system will automatically archive the course, along with your students, at the end of each term.

How do you find and add new users into your group?
Navigate to the group or course you would like to manage, then select the Users dropdown from the left side menu. From this dropdown, you can review your current memberships through the Manage Memberships button, you can review any requests to join as well as invitations, and you can click Add User.
You can also refer to the Managing Users training video. This video demonstrates the steps to search for and add users into your group. After watching this video, you will be able to manage invitations and navigate the steps to add members directly into your group, whether you’re adding an individual user or a list of names.

Do you need help identifying and changing user permissions?
Refer to the Managing Users training video for guidance on assigning user roles, including recommendations and tips for delegating responsibilities. After watching this video, you will be able to manage the roles of everyone in your group, including user roles with “administrative capabilities” like when assigning members as check-in attendants or assigning a member to duplicate future events.

Is there an easy way to send messages to group members?
You can easily navigate to your Engage UNF inbox through the top right personal navigation bar, then selecting the icon Message Inbox. If you would like to message the users in your group, navigate to the group or course dashboard page, then click the Users dropdown menu. Whether you need to send an updated location to the people registered for an event or you need to message everyone in your group regardless of their user role.

Events

Is there a quick and easy way to post an event?
Refer to the Event Creation training video to learn which fields are required and which fields are optional. Refer to this video if you need guidance on the steps to duplicate previous events for future use. After watching this video, you will be able to navigate the minimum number of fields needed to publish your event, as well as gain understanding on the additional custom settings that can customize the event settings to your specific needs.

Do you need step-by-step guidance on creating or editing an event in Engage UNF?
Refer to the Event Creation training video for step-by-step guidance on configuring event settings and navigating the event dashboard. This video also explores the process for creating and sharing event registrations – including the process for selecting the correct privacy settings to ensure the right audience sees your activity, as well as the steps to create an event QR code for easy registration. After watching this video, you will be able to navigate the process to launch events configured to your specific needs.

Do you need help managing registrations before an event?
Refer to the Event Management training video for support on reviewing registrations and communicating event updates before an event. After watching this video, you will be able to navigate the event dashboard and your Engage UNF inbox.

Is there a quick way to take attendance during or after the event?
Refer to the Event Management training video to review the easy-to-follow steps for taking attendance during an event. This video will explore the process for accessing the attendance page, where you can “Sign Registrants In”, as well as steps to access the “Activate Kiosk Mode” option from your mobile device for easy attendance during the event. This video will also cover the steps to update event attendance using a list of names. After watching this video, you will be able to track and update participation for your events.
Impacts

Is there a recommended way to use Impacts?
Refer to the Managing Impacts training video to learn the steps for tracking hours that are dedicated to service based activities and field work opportunities. Also, refer to the Event Creation training video for step-by-step guidance on using the volunteer event type, rather than the standard event type, which are more commonly used to document engagement, involvement, and participation. After watching these videos, you will understand how and when impacts should be created.

Do you need help reviewing impact submissions or verifying engagement?
Refer to the Managing Impacts training video for guidance on accessing and verifying impacts. You will learn how to search for impacts where you are selected as the “requested verifier”. After watching this video, you will be able to review, verify, and dispute submitted impacts.
