Engage UNF

🎓 Engage UNF is YOUR hub for Experiential Learning and Academic Engagement! 🎓

Here, you can find experiential learning opportunities that meet your interests, expand your learning, and create new social and professional networks. Plus, we are constantly adding new ways for you to engage with academic content, faculty members, hear from unique speakers, and further enhance your time at UNF.

The "EL Activities" tab in the system will list recognized non-course EL opportunities that meet the Experiential Learning Requirement. You can search based on type of activity, keywords, activity host, and many other filters to find the right opportunities to fit your educational and professional goals. UNF actively adds more opportunities to this tab, so check back often.

For course-based EL Activities, UNF automatically enrolls you into the course in Engage UNF when you officially register. For more information on the registration process, check out the UNF Registration Guide or contact your academic advisor, myNest.

For non-course based EL Activities, some opportunities you can join directly and others you will need to apply for. If you find an opportunity, click the link to learn more about what you will need to do to meet the requirements for the EL Activity or how to get involved.

All your EL Activities and other opportunities you log through Engage UNF will appear in your Dashboard. This will help you keep track of ALL the things that you do at UNF through the Engage UNF platform in one place. We encourage you to use this information when talking with Career Services, your Academic Advisor, or Mentor about your accomplishments. You will also have access to a Summary Impact Record, This document, which you can access whenever you want, will be help you identify the bullets on your resume and be your answers interview questions.

  • Joining a Group or Class

Click on Campus Groups and then use the Search function to find what you are looking for. You can also use the Filters to search based on Causes, Type, and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Once you find the group you are looking for, click the link to that page. On the group banner, you will see an option to Join. Click Join and you are now a member.

Certain groups might have restrictions to join (e.g., fraternities, sororities, living-learning communities). You will need to be added to these groups by an administrator for that organization.

The system is set-up to auto-enroll you in any Experiential Learning courses you are registered. To access your classes, login to your account and use the My Activity menu at the top of the screen to select Classes. This will take you to a new screen where you can use the filters to find a specific course or term.

  • Verifying an Impact

All Impacts (inputs) in Engage UNF need verification or approval. For many instances, you will be able to select an administrator (UNF faculty or staff member) using the dropdown field in the Impact workflow. By selecting one of these individuals, they will receive a notification from Engage UNF once you submit the Impact.

If your Impact requires verification from someone outside of UNF, you will need to select the blue "Switch to Write-in mode" at the top of the Verification block of the Impact workflow. You will then see the prompt to input the person's name and email address. Make sure the email address is accurate before moving on. Once you submit your Impact, the email address you entered will receive notification from Engage UNF to approve your submitted Impact.

When sending to external verifiers, there are sometime problems with Engage UNF emails getting sent to Junk/Spam or Greymail. If this person will be a frequent verifier, ask them to "white label" or "permit" emails from notification@givepulse.com. This will help with future verification processes.

  • Resending a Verification Email

If you need to resend a verification email for approval, you do not need to create a new Impact. You can go into the original Impact through your Dashboard and an available option will be to Resend Verification Request. The system will send a new verification request to the verifier.

*Note: Engage UNF will only let you do this once in a 24-hour period. This prevents "spamming" and verification emails being flagged for Junk/Spam by email systems.

In your Impact Dashboard, you also will be able to see all Impacts that are Approved or Pending. This is a quick way to see what is outstanding and still needs verification.

  • How Do I Create a Group/Class in Engage UNF?

Good news, YOU do not need to! We (Office of Experiential Learning) take care of it for YOU!

If your class is an officially recognized Experiential Learning course carrying the ELRC Course Attribute, it will automatically populate in Engage UNF and auto-enroll any students registered. There is nothing else you need to do.

For you to access the course, you must use your UNF credentials and the single sign-on process to logon to Engage UNF. Once you log in, click Activity at the top menu next to your profile image. Select Classes and all courses you are an instructor for will appear. Use the filter tools to see only the current semester.

If your class is not in the Engage UNF system, send an email to engageunf@unf.edu with the subject name, subject number, and CRN for the course.

To create a group in Engage UNF, send an email to engageunf@unf.edu with the name of the group. A member of the Office of Experiential Learning will contact you for additional information and will create the group for you. This ensures it is properly networked in the Engage UNF system.

If you are having issues with Engage UNF, the easiest way to get support is by messaging the Office of Experiential Learning directly within the Engage UNF system or send an email to engageunf@unf.edu.
