UNF Hicks Honors College Day

Welcome, future Ospreys!

The Welcome Center has partnered up with the Hicks Honors College at UNF to create a special Saturday event option for prospective students interested in the Hicks Honors College!

Advanced registration is required. This Honors event is offered to current high school seniors only with a GPA of 3.8 or higher that have already applied for the upcoming Fall 2024 academic year.

The Hicks Honors College Day event has passed.

Come see what the Hicks Honors College has to offer!

The Hicks Honors College is a vibrant community of motivated learners who get encouragement and support from each other and faculty to thrive in college and achieve great things.  This interdisciplinary program provides the personalized education—small classes and close connection to faculty—that is usually available only at small colleges, while still offering all the resources of a state university in a metropolitan region. Hicks Honors College students receive extraordinary opportunities to fulfill their goals and enrich their lives.

What to expect

Dive right into an Honors course demonstration to get a glimpse of what an honors student experiences firsthand. Meet with different departments across campus, hear from our dean what makes the Hicks Honors College unique, and ask questions from a panel of honors students about what life is like at UNF and in the Honors College.

Join us on a college-specific Honors tour

You will get to know our hands-on Honors college and get a more in-depth look at what you will be doing as an Honors student at UNF.

Your tour will be led by a knowledgeable and friendly Swoop Squad member who is a currently enrolled student at UNF and is ready to share his or her experiences with you. The tour will include a visit to the Honors living-learning community (LLC), Crossings Q.

The Honors LLC is designated housing for first-year Honors students. The purpose of the LLC is to assist our students with a smooth transition into college. Located in Osprey Crossings Q, the housing facility is on main campus and provides students with a tight-knit community, including social and educational programming designed to help students feel connected to Honors, UNF and each other! Stick around and join us for lunch with other future Ospreys!

Please Note: These events are for prospective and incoming undergraduate students. If you are interested in learning more about graduate studies, we encourage you to visit the UNF Graduate School.
