UNF Hicks Honors College Day

oneColumn

Welcome, future Ospreys!

The Welcome Center has partnered up with the Hicks Honors College at UNF to create a special Saturday event option for prospective students interested in the Hicks Honors College!

Advanced registration is required. This Honors event is offered to current high school seniors only with a GPA of 3.8 or higher that have already applied for the upcoming Fall 2023 academic year.

Come see what the Hicks Honors College has to offer!

The Hicks Honors College is an interdisciplinary program designed for high-achieving students that emphasizes experiential and active learning in small classes. This interdisciplinary program provides the personalized education usually only available at small colleges while still offering all the resources of a state university. Hicks Honors College students represent the best that every new class of Ospreys has to offer: students with high intellectual ability, a strong work ethic, and a desire to get the most out of their college experience, both academically and socially.

What to expect

Dive right into an Honors Course Demonstration to get a glimpse of what an Honors student experiences firsthand. Meet with different departments across campus and hear from our Hicks Honors College dean on the best tips and tricks to prepare for the life of an Honors student at UNF.

Join us on a college-specific Honors tour

You will get to know our hands-on Honors college and get a more in-depth look at what you will be doing as an Honors student at UNF.

Your tour will be led by a knowledgeable and friendly Swoop Squad member who is a currently enrolled student at UNF and is ready to share his or her experiences with you. The tour will include a visit to the Honors living-learning community, Crossings Q.

The Honors LLC is designated housing for first-year Honors students. The purpose of the LLC is to assist our students with a smooth transition into college. Located in Osprey Crossings Q, the housing facility is on main campus and provides students with a tight-knit community, including social and educational programming designed to help students feel connected to Honors, UNF and each other! Stick around and join us for lunch with other future ospreys!

 Registration coming soon!

Please note these events are for prospective and incoming undergraduate students. If you are interested in learning more about graduate studies, we encourage you to visit the UNF Graduate School.
