Tours FAQs
Questions
-
Do I have to pay for parking when attending a UNF campus tour?
No. A member of the Swoop Squad will be at the front of the John A. Delaney Student Union (Building 58) to greet and assist you. At the campus tour tent, our staff will pay for your parking. Please remember to give them your license plate to receive your free parking pass for the day. Please remember to follow all parking rules as stated at the parking kiosk. Park "nose-in" to allow your license plate to properly be scanned by parking services. -
What should I expect from a UNF campus tour?
You will go on a two-hour outdoor walking tour of campus led by a member of the Swoop Squad (student tour guides). -
How do I prepare for my UNF campus tour?
- Wear comfortable shoes for your walking tour.
- Prepare for Florida's unpredictable weather (sunscreen, umbrella, etc.).
- Check-in 15-20 minutes before your tour is scheduled to begin.
- If this is your first time visiting campus, you can review directions by clicking on the Directions tab above.
-
How do I cancel or change my UNF campus tour reservation?
To avoid having to fill out a new reservation completely, select the edit/cancel your reservation on any of the emails you received confirming your reservation. This will automatically pull up your account and allow you to edit, update, and/or cancel your existing reservation. We highly recommend this option as it will limit multiple reservations in our system. -
If it is raining, will the tour be cancelled?
Tours will happen in rain or shine, and while we offer ponchos as accommodations to rain, we recommend being prepared for these conditions. In the event of a national weather emergency where the University shuts down or cancels outdoor activities, tours will also be cancelled.
-
Can I meet with an Admissions representative?
If your tour has an Admissions Coordinator on site, you may bring any questions to them – no appointment necessary! -
Can we go inside a residence hall while on a campus tour?
Our tours typically include a viewing of our Housing Showroom. Before registering for a tour, call the Welcome Center to confirm a viewing is included in the tour of your interest. We have also created virtual programming for all of our residence halls. View our virtual walk-throughs by registering for our Virtual Housing Tour -
I am registered for a waitlist. Will I receive a confirmation email if there are any openings?
Yes, you will automatically receive an emailed confirmation of your tour registration in the event you are moved from the waitlist onto the tour. -
A tour shows up as available but I am unable to successfully register. Is something wrong?
Our tours have limited capacity and there may only be space for one more person on this tour which can prevent you from registering with an accompanying guest. -
I can only visit on a specific date and time and your tours are full or the Welcome Center is closed. Am I allowed to visit your campus on my own?
You are very welcome to visit our campus via a self-guided tour. If you visit us on a weekday, between the 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., please stop by the roundabout entrance to the John A. Delaney Student Union and look out for our campus tours tent with a staff member to greet you. If our staff is not present, call us at 904-620-1183 before parking so we can send a staff member to assist you with self-guided tour information and answer any of your questions. If you choose to visit us on a weekend, we can send you self-guided tour information via email. -
Do you offer golf carts as a special accommodation?
No, we do not currently offer golf cart tours. We do have a wheelchair and walker as options for special accommodations. For other special accommodations for your visit, please contact the Student Accessibility Center by email at sac@unf.edu or by phone at 904-620-2769.
