UNF associate professor receives the 2022 Steinway and Sons Top Teacher Award
Dr. Erin Bennett, associate professor of Piano and Piano Pedagogy at the University of North Florida, is the recipient of the 2022 Steinway and Sons Top Teacher Award.
The Steinway Top Teacher Award is a prestigious formal recognition by Steinway and Sons that commends a music educator’s passion, artistry, and commitment to students. This is an annual award given to teachers for outstanding instruction and leadership in music education at the piano, and who demonstrate an unceasing commitment to their students helping them to fulfill their highest potential as musicians and pianists. To be eligible for the Steinway and Sons Top Teacher Award Program, music teachers must teach acoustic piano in an exemplary fashion.
Dr. Bennett was nominated for the award by French Forbes, III, who works in Steinway’s Division of Education. French says he nominated her because Dr. Bennett demonstrated outstanding instruction and leadership in piano education, as well as strengthened relationships between teachers both on and off campus.
