Elizabeth & Irwin Zekaria Endowed Scholarship / Fellowship

CRITERIA:

  • Meet admissions requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida, and be accepted in the College of Education and Human Services.
  • Preference given to students admitted at the junior, senior, or graduate level in the Deaf Education program.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as defined by the University's Office of Financial Aid.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Enroll full-time each semester and earn an additional 24 credits for undergraduate students, or 18 credits for graduate students, by the end of each spring term.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for the junior and senior years, and a GPA of 3.0 for graduate study.
  • Comply with all University regulations, rules and codes of conduct governing students on campus.
  • Consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the Donor.
  • Remain in good standing as a student.

RENEWAL:

  • Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding, and if all of the preceding requirements have been met.
  • Applicants for subsequent years must meet the following criteria:
  • Enroll full-time each semester and earn an additional 24 credits for undergraduate students, or 18 credits for graduate students, by the end of each spring term.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for the freshman and sophomore years, 2.5 for the junior and senior years, and a GPA of 3.0 for graduate study.
  • Remain in good standing as a student.
  • Recipients will receive an award letter identifying the maximum number of semesters or credit hours eligible for scholarship or fellowship support.
