eight attendees from the Clinical Practice Fellows SymposiumUNF’s Clinical Practice Fellows, Dr. Rebecca West Burns, Dr. Rachelle Curcio and Dr. Megan Lynch co-chaired the 2023 Clinical Practice Fellows Symposium. Over 100 teacher educators attended this event which took place on March 26, 2023 following the National Association for Professional Development Schools (NAPDS) Conference.

Clinical Practice Fellows are a community of school-and-university based teacher educators who have a strong interest in clinical practice. Clinical Practice Fellows are made up of higher-education faculty, doctoral students, clinical field coordinators, mentor teachers, principals and teacher leaders committed to engaging in collaborative discussions focused on centering clinical practice and developing school-university partnerships within teacher education programs. Clinical Practice Fellows are selected through a competitive application process. At this year’s conference, Ms. Shaundricka Medlock, a Clay County School District and UNF COEHS Resident Clinical Faculty and doctoral student, was accepted as a 2023 Clinical Practice Fellow.

Clinical Practice Fellows network, share research and teaching interests and hear from some of the top scholars and practitioners in education on a national level. These collaborations occur annually at the national symposium and throughout the year. Fellows at this year’s conference spent their time networking, rethinking the nature of clinical practice, re-imaging their partnerships and developing action plans that support all stakeholders.
