What Students Are Saying

The OspreyPro digital badging program has become a meaningful component of my development as a student and emerging professional. Each badge I have earned represents more than a completed task; it reflects a concrete step toward my personal, academic, and career goals.
These badges help bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing me to apply what I learn in class to internships, research projects, and other handson experiences required in my major.
OspreyPro digital badging offers more than simple icons or credentials; it provides a meaningful framework for becoming a more intentional, reflective, and prepared emerging professional.
Ultimately, I think the important takeaway I have from this course, is that being an attractive candidate is about so much more than just having technical experience under your belt. You need a combination of technical experience, professional experience, and soft skills to be a truly attractive candidate to potential employers.
Professionally, the badges align with my short-term goal of securing an internship at SouthState Bank and my long-term goal of becoming a business analyst or accountant. They serve as tangible evidence of my ability to apply classroom knowledge in practical contexts, which is essential for career advancement.

What Faculty Are Saying

"OspreyPro, which synthesizes curriculum and experiential learning, establishes a structured pathway for Computing students to be professionally ready and seamlessly connect with our industry partners in various fields: tech, healthcare, logistics, banking, etc." - Nan Niu, Professor & Director School of Computing

“Osprey Pro is fully integrated into my course Career Pathways for Languages, where students complete the badge as part of their academic work. What I see every semester is a clear shift in how students understand themselves as emerging professionals. They come in with misconceptions about resumes and cover letters, with little awareness of how to present their skills, and without basic tools like an elevator pitch or a LinkedIn profile. Through Osprey Pro, they build these materials from the ground up, but more importantly, they learn how to think about their experiences in a structured and intentional way. By the end of the course, they are able to articulate their strengths, connect their language skills to real career pathways, and present themselves with confidence in professional settings. That level of clarity and confidence is what makes the biggest difference.” -  Johana Barrero, Ph.D., Associate Instructor of Languages, Literatures, & Cultures
“Assigning OspreyPro in my Professional Opportunities course provided students with additional feedback on professional materials and offered vital practice in communicating skills to potential employers. There is noticeable improvement in their job application materials, and they are more highly engaged with Career Services. Having students participate in this professional development program is an essential component for students’ career readiness upon graduation.” - Elizabeth R. Brown, Ph.D., Assistant Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences
