Relaxation Room

What is the Relaxation Room?

The Relaxation Room is meant to provide a safe and relaxing space for members of the UNF Community to quiet their mind, reduce stress, and refresh and restore themselves. Our counseling staff is available to orient and train users on the various features of the room, which are listed below. The Relaxation Room is located in the UNF Counseling Center (Building 2 / Room 2300) and is available for use Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are interested in reserving some time in the room, would like to visit the room, or have any questions, please stop by our center or call 904-620-2602.

Who may use the Relaxation Room?

The Relaxation Room is currently available for use by students, staff, and faculty.

Students do not have to be a current client of the counseling center to access the room but must bring a current UNF Student ID with them to be able to reserve the room.

How may I reserve the Relaxation Room?

You are welcome to walk in to the center, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and request to access the room. You may reserve the room for 15, 30, or 60 minutes.

Please note that due to health concerns no food or uncovered drinks are allowed in the Relaxation Room.

What does the Relaxation Room offer?

Aside from a quiet place to relax, the Relaxation Room includes several features and tools to assist you in calming your mind, body, and spirit, including:

  • A comfortable recliner
  • Soft lighting
  • A sound machine
  • Relaxing music
  • Audio guided relaxation and meditation activities
  • Biofeedback technology
  • Zafu and Zabuton meditation cushions
