The record-breaking number of donors – including students, families, alumni, faculty, staff and friends – gave more than double the amount raised last year.

Gifts collected during Giving Day go toward current programs, scholarships and clubs as well as opening support pathways to students through future opportunities.

Donor engagement unlocked several fundraising challenges and matches, including a $50,000 gift from longtime UNF donor Jim Van Vleck for programs spanning the College of Arts and Sciences. UNF President Moez Limayem also continued his matching gift of up to $50,000 to the UNF Student Success Fund.

“This has been our biggest Giving Day in UNF’s history,” said Kristy Herrington, UNF Annual Giving director. “It’s so exciting to see everyone come together and pick projects they’re passionate about supporting. Thank you to everyone who helped make this the best Giving Day yet.”

Last year, 3,416 donors gave $1,002,276 for Giving Day.

The 2024 Giving Day goal was to reach 4,200 donors. The university surpassed the goal and saw 936 more donors than in 2023, with more than 500 of those donations from current students. Also, each college and area featured in this year’s challenge saw donorship increases compared to 2023.
