UNF celebrates Summer 2023 Commencement

UNF graduate cheering with his diplomaMore than 900 students are walking across the stage today during the University of North Florida’s Summer 2023 Commencement ceremonies at the UNF Arena. The University plans to award over 1,200 degrees in total.

Graduates range in age from 18 to 68, come from 13 countries, 28% are the first generation in their families to attend college, many have over 4.0 GPA’s and 66 are military-connected. 

Dorick (Dee) Parker was honored with the Senior Service Award, presented by the UNF Alumni Association to a graduating senior each semester for their outstanding volunteer service to the University and community. Parker is graduating from UNF’s Brooks College of Health with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She will pursue a Master of Science in Nursing in the Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner program at Yale University in spring 2024.

Graduates will move directly into careers with notable companies including Johns Hopkins Healthcare, Mayo Clinic, Baptist Health, Fidelity Investments and Bank of America.

The UNF Class of Summer 2023 will join the Osprey Nation’s current 108,429-member alumni total. As of spring 2023, UNF has issued a total of 93,857 bachelor’s degrees, 22,973 master’s degrees and 1,466 doctorates since opening its doors in 1972.
