Morgan Ray looks to take home gold for Team USA at Para Swimming World Championships

Morgan Ray HeadshotMorgan Ray, a University of North Florida junior studying health administration and a Paralympic athlete, will represent Team USA at the 2023 Para Swimming World Championships in Manchester, England, this week.  

Ray, who began swimming at the age of 6 and who has trained with The Bolles School Sharks since 2013 on their club team, was born with achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism.  

In April, Morgan qualified for his second world championship while breaking the 100-meter breaststroke American record at trials. Last year, he took home silver in his first appearance at the World Para Swimming Championships in Portugal.  

Tune in to watch Ray swim between 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. EST on the following days:  

  • Wednesday, Aug. 2 – 200 IM (Ray’s 21st birthday) 
  • Friday, Aug. 4 – 34 pt 4 x 100 mixed medley relay 
  • Saturday, Aug. 5 – 100 breast  

Ray previously competed for Team USA at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru, where he placed fourth in the 100-meter breaststroke. Ray made his international debut at the 2018 World Para Swimming World Series in Indiana after his first competition at the 2017 US Paralympic National Championships in North Carolina.
