About Emergency Management

Through proactive planning, training, and outreach, UNF Emergency Management strives to minimize risk and maintain campus resilience.

Crisis Management Team
The Crisis Management Team (CMT) works to ensure that UNF is prepared to respond to, recover from, and diminish the effects of a wide variety of disasters that could adversely affect the health, safety, and welfare of its students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Building Emergency Coordinator Program
UNF's Building Emergency Coordinator Program supports campus safety by designating trained individuals within each building to assist during emergencies and building evacuations. These coordinators serve as points of contact for public safety, help facilitate orderly evacuations, and support communication between building occupants and the University Police Department or Crisis Management Team. The program enhances the University’s ability to respond quickly, guide occupants to safety, and maintain clear communication during emergency situations.
Emergency Communications
In the event of an emergency, UNF will use multiple modes of communication to get the word out quickly. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Email, voice message, and text message to students, faculty and staff
- Indoor and outdoor public address systems
- Information posted on the Safe Ospreys app
- Information posted on UNF homepage and the UNF myWings Portal
- Information updated on UNF's main phone number, (904) 620-1000
- Information on UNF's official social media sites: Facebook and Instagram
- Information updated with the news media
In addition, students, faculty, staff, and visitors may use the Emergency Code Blue telephones placed throughout the campus to request assistance or report an emergency.
