Study Abroad for Language Students

At UNF, language students undertake a transformative learning experience in the sense that as they enhance their linguistic skills and cultural understanding, they become better prepared to negotiate today's multicultural global society. Many of our students enroll in other summer, semester, or year-long language programs throughout the world. Students receive departmental credit for all pre-approved courses of study abroad.

Exchange Opportunities

UNF has exchange agreements that allow students to study for a semester or longer at the following universities:

  • Universidad de las Américas Puebla (Cholula, México)
  • Universidad de Burgos (Burgos, Spain)
  • Universidad de Cantabria (Santander, Spain)
  • Universidad Loyola Andalucía (Seville, Spain)
  • Universidad de Málaga (Málaga, Spain)
  • Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Medellín, Colombia)

Life in Tours

Tours, sitting at the confluence of the Loire and Cher rivers, is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is also close to the celebrated wine-making areas of Vouvray, Chinon, and Sancerre.
Students will live with a French family (private room, shared bathroom), eat breakfast and dinner with their hosts, and experience an authentic immersion into the life of students in France. The city of Tours, home to the Université de Tours, is known for its lively student life.
We will take excursions to visit castles, museums, local markets, and medieval abbeys.

During our stay in Tours, students will travel to Paris for three days and two nights, staying at a youth hostel located in the center of “the City of Light.” We will visit some of the most iconic places in the world.
