Cynthia L. Cummings

Cynthia Cummings is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, Brooks College of Health. She teaches in the undergraduate program and is director of the Accelerated Nursing Program. She received her EdD in educational leadership from UNF in 2009 and both of her sons have also graduated from UNF. She received her BSN and MS in nursing from the University of Maryland. Cindy was recognized as one of the Great 100 Nurses in Northeast Florida in 2007 and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau and Pi Lambda Theta in 2008. She has served on numerous committees and boards in Jacksonville and is currently on the board of the American Red Cross and is co-chair of Jacksonville Area Nurse Educators. She is active with the Sigma Theta Tau honor society as UNF vice-president and has served on the college APC committee as secretary. Cindy is also active on numerous nursing committees, such as APG, Curriculum and IT. Cindy continues to publish and research areas in nursing education, simulation learning and workplace stress. She has presented locally and internationally on these topics. Her focus though remains student success and she is dedicated to guiding and mentoring undergraduate nursing students through the nursing program.
