UNF Athletics reaches new academic milestones in Spring '24
North Florida Athletics reached new heights with academic milestones during the spring 2024 semester, touting a 3.57 institution-wide grade point average.
"It was an amazing year for our student-athletes on the field and in the classroom! It really takes a village and we have the best village around," said Tara Sunquist, assistant AD of UNF’s Student-Athlete Center for Excellence. "The holistic support our student-athletes receive from coaches, administration and staff is unparalleled. Special thanks to Carrie Driscoll and Jessica Spangler for the support and care they provide."
UNF Athletics has now surpassed a 3.0 grade-point average for the 26th straight semester. This mark matches the spring 2023 mark for the highest GPA in the department outside of the spring 2020 COVID-19 altered semester.
Beach volleyball led the charge academically with the highest team GPA at 3.79, while men's tennis notched the best mark from a male team at 3.77. It was a new record-high mark for men's tennis and softball team GPAs, while also putting together the highest male GPA ever in a semester. UNF also recorded 19 more 4.0's this semester than during the fall '23 term.
There were 68 UNF student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA, 197 with a 3.5 GPA or better, and 272 with a 3.0 GPA or better.
