UNF, First Tee, Amazon host hackathon to find youth development solutions

One of the student teams working on their project for the AI for Good HackathonUniversity of North Florida students recently participated in AI for Good, a 48-hour hackathon event challenging students to build solutions that drive social and environmental change. First Tee served as the social good community partner and provided real-world data and problem cases for the event. Amazon Web Services (AWS) served as the technology partner and provided access to cloud and data science technologies.

The 26 student participants came from a variety of different majors including computing, business and psychology to join forces and work on data solutions. Professional experts from First Tee, AWS, NLP Logix, CapTech and UNF helped mentor the students throughout the competition and bring their solutions to life. First, second and third-place teams were awarded cash gift cards.
