UNF alumna receives Florida’s Young Engineer of the Year Award

Young Engineer of the Year Award winner, Corey Chascin, holding her awardCorey Chascin, a University of North Florida civil engineering Class of 2013 alumna, recently received the prestigious Young Engineer of the Year Award from the Florida Engineering Society (FES).  

The Young Engineer of the Year Award honors an up-and-coming member of the FES under the age of 35 who best exemplifies the ideal image of a young engineer. Chascin is recognized for her well-rounded record of achievement in education, employment, professional and public service activities.  

Chascin is a CEI Project Administrator at VIA Consulting Services with a background in geotechnical engineering and materials. She is working with the City of Jacksonville and the Downtown Investment Authority on revitalization projects, such as the McCoys Creek Restoration and RiversEdge: Life on the St. Johns. She is the former president of the Florida Engineering Society’s Northeast Florida Chapter and an incoming state director. Chascin is a Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI) alumna, where she served as the fundraising chair and worked on a passion project building beds for children in need.
