Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics honors UNF professor Catherine Christie

Catherine ChristieDr. Catherine Christie, associate dean and professor at the University of North Florida's Brooks College of Health, has been honored by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics with a 2022 Medallion Award in recognition of her outstanding service and leadership in the Academy and the nutrition and dietetics profession. Christie is one of eight registered dietitian nutritionists to be honored with this prestigious award.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Medallion Awards, given each year since 1976, honor Academy members who have shown dedication to the high standards of the nutrition and dietetics profession through active participation, leadership and devotion to serving others in nutrition and dietetics, as well as allied health fields. 

Christie is a registered dietitian, a fellow of the American Dietetic Association, past president of the Florida Dietetic Association and editor of the Manual of Medical Nutrition Therapy published by the Florida Dietetic Association.

Representing more than 112,000 credentialed nutrition and dietetics practitioners, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals and works to improve the nation’s health and advance the profession of dietetics through research, education and advocacy.
