UNF Surf Team is best on the east coast for eight consecutive years

UNF Surf Team east coast championship team photo with trophiesThe University of North Florida's Surf Team won the eighth consecutive National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) East Coast Championship this weekend in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

In addition to the team proudly taking first place overall, the UNF surfers took four of the six top positions in individual events as well.

In the men’s division, UNF’s Blake Speir placed 1st, Charlie Current in 3rd, Ethan Lowe in 4th and Fergie Kelly in 5th. In the women’s division, UNF’s Sophie Falzone placed 1st, Avery Aydelotte in 2nd, Sarah Stotz in 4th, and Eden Lang in 5th.

The UNF B-Team of alternate surfers even took the overall third place out of six finalists.

The UNF Surf Team will head to California to compete in the NSSA Surf Nationals in June. Learn more and support the team.
