UNF ranks high in U.S. News & World Report 2022 ‘Best Online Programs’

The University of North Florida has earned high rankings in U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Online Programs list, landing in the top 50 in the nation for its online bachelor’s programs as well as earning recognition for the online master’s in education program.

UNF’s online programs are praised for their continual student support, adaptations throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and appeal to working students who need more flexibility in completing their education.

UNF also ranked in the top schools in the nation for its master’s in education program. The program is recognized for its strong traditional academic foundations based on student-instructor access, graduation rates and instructor credentials as well as for excelling at educating distance learners while offering robust career and financial support.

Considering the rise in online academic offerings due to the pandemic, U.S. News & World Report redeveloped this year’s ranking approach based on four general categories:

  • Engagement: Considers the extent to which a degree program enables students to effectively interact with instructors and classmates as they would in an on-campus environment.
  • Services and technologies: Considers how programs incorporate diverse technologies to allow students more flexibility to complete their coursework at a distance as well as the quality of student support services, career guidance and financial aid resources.
  • Accounting: Considers the degree to which online instructors’ credentials mirror those of on-campus faculty and the effectiveness of the resources used to train instructors to teach distance learners.
  • Opinions from surveys of high-ranking academic officials: Considers factors affecting program quality that hard data can’t capture.
