Students taking part in a beautification project at a local public schoolStudents in the University of North Florida’s College of Education and Human Services’ Jacksonville Teacher Residency program teamed up with the Arc of Jacksonville's On Campus Transition AmeriCorps members and volunteers to give back to a local high school on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

The education students who are serving with AmeriCorps joined forces with members of Englewood High School administration and high school students to work on a garden beautification project and improvements to the staff lounge and media center. They also assembled more than 600 homemade goodie bags with treats and encouraging notes to give to the Englewood students during their exams.
