UNF receives top awards from the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Headshot for Dr. Lauri WrightUniversity of North Florida nutrition and dietetics faculty and an undergraduate student won three out of six total awards from the annual Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics award ceremony. Nutrition and dietetics faculty Dr. Lauri Wright, chair, and Dr. Jen Ross, assistant professor, as well as student Alexis Harp were all recognized for their outstanding contributions to the field.

  • Wright received the Outstanding Dietitian of the Year Award recognizing commitment to excellence made by an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to the profession.
  • Ross received the Emerging Dietetic Leader Award recognizing the competence and activities of dietitians regardless of their age, who have made distinctive contributions early in their dietetics careers to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Harp received the Outstanding Dietetics Student Award to recognize the emerging leadership and achievement of students in ACEND-accredited dietetics education programs and encourage their participation in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

 

The Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the state’s largest association of dietetic and nutrition professionals who are in the forefront of health and nutrition information and education. The 3,000+ members touch the lives of all residents and citizens across Florida.
