UNF Assistant Director Development named a ’40 Under 40’
Lorin Thies, assistant director of development for Academic and Student Affairs, has been honored as one of Jacksonville's '40 Under 40' for 2021 by the Jacksonville Business Journal. This annual list honors 40 of the most promising professionals in Northeast Florida and celebrates their accomplishments and contributions to their field of work. Honorees will be awarded virtually on Wednesday, May 19.
Thies graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 2003 and a Master of Public Administration in 2006. She has worked in the nonprofit sector for more than 15 years, including time at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, the Florida Theatre, and Jacksonville's Museum of Science and History.
Thies serves on the Board of Directors for the Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens and for Searching for Identity Foundation. She is also a mentor through Take Stock in Children and volunteers and supports a number of other causes.
