UNF Ranks as a Best National University by U.S. News & World Report

The University of North Florida is once again ranked amongUNF Entrance Sign the best national universities in U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 edition of “Best Colleges,” which includes rankings of more than 1,400 colleges and universities across the country.

This is the second straight year that the University is recognized as a “Best National” university after being recognized as a “Best Regional” by U.S. News & World Report for eight consecutive years. UNF is also named as a “Top Public” institution and among the “Top Performers on Social Mobility” and “Least Student Debt.”

“This prestigious recognition affirms the tremendous ongoing efforts UNF puts forth to build one of the finest universities in the nation,” said UNF President David Szymanski. “This serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our outstanding faculty and staff and our phenomenally talented students.”

National universities are recognized as the best in offering a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master’s and doctoral programs, and are committed to producing groundbreaking faculty research. “Top Performers on Social Mobility” recognizes UNF’s commitment to advancing social mobility by enrolling and graduating large proportions of disadvantaged students awarded with Pell Grants. “Least Student Debt” recognizes UNF’s commitment to reducing student debt and making a high-quality education affordable to its students.

The U.S. News rankings are based on key measures of quality such as academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources (including class size, the percentage of faculty with the top academic degree, student-faculty ratio), student selectivity, financial resources, and alumni giving.
