UNF CEI accepting healthcare entrepreneurs applications

The University of North Florida Center for Entrepreneurship and InnovationUNF Logo (CEI) is now accepting applications for its next cohort of aspiring entrepreneurs. This cohort will focus on the healthcare sector and anyone with a business idea in the health and medical field should consider applying.

UNF’s CEI is making Jacksonville a better place for innovative start-ups as it facilitates the development of early-stage companies by offering a variety of programs to support and nurture selected startup businesses. Last year’s inaugural cohort had 14 entrepreneurs, including Founders in the medical, transportation and logistics and technology sectors. Demo Day for the first cohort is scheduled for September 17, 2020.

CEI services include business plan development, co-working space, help from student interns, professional support and networking opportunities. Upon completion and review of the lean canvas model, accepted applicants will have access to paid professional services, such as legal, accounting and marketing.

There are no membership fees or required equity investment from the companies. The only commitment is that accepted applicants must participate in all workshops and programs. Applications are due by Friday, Aug. 14, and applicants will be notified of acceptance by Friday, Aug. 28. More information, including a schedule of the programs and an application, can be found at www.unf.edu/coggin/CEI/.
