The performance will feature a collaboration of 21 choirs with 167 singers to help spread a message of unity during this time of conflict and strife.

The pre-recorded virtual choir video will be uploaded to Sing Around The gloBe’s YouTube page at 7:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, June 20.

Conceived by conductors world-wide as an idea to bring their choirs together to send a message of hope and celebrate friendship, Sing Around The gloBe includes award-winning choirs that have all competed on the international stage and received countless accolades. Viewers will be able to enjoy the moving rendition of Frank Ticheli's "Earth Song" from the comfort and safety of home through an audio and visual experience produced by Grammy-winning sound engineer Bill Hare, prominent conductor, composer and arranger, Ralf Schmitt, and The X Factor creative director, Andrew Timm.

"It was a prestigious honor to collaborate with international friends in this professional virtual choral project," said Dr. Tasher. "The UNF chamber singers chose to participate in Sing Around The gloBe because it was a way for them to work together, unlike most other virtual choirs. Especially during these uncertain times, the UNF students who participated in this event were able to collaborate with one another and with singers from other choirs from all around the globe."

Another unique manifestation of the Sing Around The gloBe collaboration is that UNF voice music performance students now have the opportunity to participate in an online Q&A and Masterclass with the singers from the Opera de Bellas Artes of Mexico City since their season is also currently virtual.
