UNF Partnership Compliance Standards
The University of North Florida maintains exclusive partnerships that provide significant support for student programs, athletics, scholarships, and other campus initiatives. To help ensure compliance with these agreements, this page outlines partnership requirements, product sales and distribution restrictions, and fundraising guidelines that apply to events, activities, and operations conducted on campus. Please review the information below before planning an event, selling products, distributing merchandise or beverages, or conducting fundraising activities.
PepsiCo Partnership Rules
Pepsi is the University of North Florida’s official exclusive beverage partner and provides the University with significant financial support through funding allocations, rebates, commissions, and marketing initiatives. These resources directly support UNF’s athletic programs and a wide range of student‑centered initiatives.
As part of this partnership, all beverages sold, served, or otherwise provided on campus must be Pepsi products. The only exception is for preapproved competitive products which may be distributed only at no charge. Please refer to the preapproved competitive product list below for examples.
Requests for approval to distribute non‑competitive products must submit a request via email to busservadmin@unf.edu that includes:
- Event date(s)
- Event time(s)
- Name(s) of the non‑competitive product(s)
Competitive products are strictly prohibited from being sold on campus under any circumstances.
Approval is not required for non-competitive products or preapproved competitive products if distributed at no charge.
Preapproved competitive products:
- Freshly brewed hot tea
- Freshly brewed iced tea
- Smoothies and blended fruit beverages
- Freshly squeezed juices
- Specialty coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks
- Fountain beverages prepared on site from fresh ingredients

Follett Partnership
Follett is the University of North Florida’s official exclusive bookstore partner and provides the University with significant financial support through commissions and various funds that directly support athletic, alumni, and student‑centered initiatives.
Under this agreement, Follett has the exclusive right—whether on campus, through catalogs, or via electronic commerce—to buy, sell, rent, and distribute merchandise and services traditionally offered by college and university bookstores. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Book signings and book sales
- UNF‑branded and logoed apparel
Departments or vendors wishing for the bookstore to sell books and/or UNF apparel in connection with an event must submit a request via email to unf@bkstr.com that includes:
- Event date(s)
- Event time(s)
- Title(s) of books and/or description of apparel
Under no circumstances may a department or vendor independently buy, sell, rent, or distribute merchandise or services traditionally offered through college and university bookstores, including book signings/sales and UNF‑logoed apparel.
Fundraising Activities and Exclusive Campus Partnerships
The University of North Florida supports fundraising efforts by student organizations, departments, and affiliated groups. However, certain fundraising activities are subject to restrictions due to the University's contractual partnerships with Pepsi, Follett, and Chartwells, all of which provide significant financial support to the University through commissions, rebates, sponsorships, and other funding arrangements. These resources directly support UNF athletics, student programs, scholarships, campus initiatives, and other mission-driven activities.
As part of these agreements, Pepsi serves as UNF's exclusive beverage partner, Follett serves as UNF's exclusive bookstore and campus merchandise partner, and Chartwells serves as UNF's exclusive food service provider. Consequently, fundraising activities may not include the sale or distribution of products, merchandise, or services that conflict with these exclusive rights without prior University approval.
Examples of restricted fundraising activities may include, but are not limited to:
- The sale of non-Pepsi beverages.
- The sale of food or beverage items that compete with Chartwells' contracted services.
- The sale of apparel, spirit merchandise, branded items, course materials, or other products traditionally offered through the UNF Bookstore operated by Follett.
- The promotion or distribution of products that infringe upon the exclusive rights granted under the University's contractual agreements.
Groups planning fundraising activities are encouraged to consult with the appropriate University office in advance to ensure compliance with applicable contracts, policies, health and safety requirements, and licensing guidelines. UNF remains committed to supporting fundraising opportunities while also honoring the partnerships that provide substantial financial benefits to the University community.
Please refer to UNF Regulation 7.0050R found here for more information on fundraising and associated requirements.
