Community Research Participant Group

How It Works

A child is completing a math project. The Community Research Participant Group is a central database for research labs at the University of North Florida (UNF). Researchers use this database to contact local adults and/or families about participating in UNF research.

Agreeing to be added to the participant pool only means that researchers may call or email you about potential studies you could participate in. It does not mean you are agreeing to participate in any study.

If you decide to add yourself and/or your family to the group, your names will be added to a large list of adults and children who have also expressed interest in participating in research at UNF. When a new study begins, a researcher may ask for a list of adults, families, or children who match the criteria they are interested in studying. If you and/or your child match the criteria, we'll give the researcher your phone number and email address, so they can contact you. The researcher will contact you, describe the study in greater detail, and ask if you're interested in participating. If you ever want to be removed from the group, you can opt out here or contact us at UNFResearch@unf.edu

Studies might be online or may take place at the UNF campus. Compensation depends on the particular study. When researchers contact you, they will discuss compensation and whether you will be required to travel to UNF.
