Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Learning Design and Technology (LDT) program provides students with the knowledge and practical experience to design, develop, and implement effective learning and training solutions. The curriculum blends instructional theory with applied learning, offering opportunities to create real-world educational tools and content that support learners in both academic and professional settings.

Students can choose from two concentrations. Workforce Learning and Leadership focuses on training, leadership, and organizational development in workplace settings. Professional Education is designed for those interested in careers that involve technology integration and instructional support in educational environments.

Throughout the program, students explore evidence-based practices, emerging technologies, and instructional design principles. Coursework is enriched by opportunities for research, industry internships, and collaborative projects that help students build their portfolios and gain relevant experience.

Graduates of the LDT program are prepared for careers in instructional design, e-learning development, and training across a range of industries. These include large corporations such as Disney, Florida Blue, and Amazon, as well as roles in government, the military, nonprofits, and education. Recognized as a growing field by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Learning Design and Technology offers a flexible and future-ready path for students who want to make a meaningful impact in the world of learning.

  • STEM Career

We are the "T" in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

As the "T" in STEM, we embrace the core role of technology as a driving force behind innovation and progress across various fields. In LDT, this focus translates to equipping students with the ability to leverage cutting-edge tools, platforms and methodologies to design effective, technology-driven learning solutions.

  • Fully Online
Designed for flexibility, this fully online format empowers learners from diverse backgrounds and locations to pursue their educational goals without the constraints of a physical classroom, allowing them to seamlessly integrate coursework with real-world applications in learning design and technology.
  • AI Infused Technology
The program incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) tools and practices, enabling students to master innovative technologies that are reshaping learning and development. By engaging with AI-driven solutions, students will gain a competitive edge in designing adaptive, personalized and efficient learning environments.
  • OER (Open Educational Resources) Courses
With a commitment to accessibility and affordability, the program integrates OER materials into its courses. This reduces the cost burden of traditional textbooks while providing students with up-to-date and customized learning resources.
