The University of North Florida will explore the transformative power of technology in business at UNF’s inaugural FinTech Symposium on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 11:30 to 5 p.m., at the Adam W. Herbert University Center.

The symposium, hosted by UNF’s College of Computing, Engineering and Construction (CCEC) and Coggin College of Business (CCB), presents an exceptional opportunity for the local business community to gather, share insights and harness the potential of financial technology (fintech) for growth and innovation.

“Fintech is one of the fastest growing fields in demand by employers, and we are pleased to bring together top minds across industries for this relevant and timely symposium,” said UNF President Moez Limayem, “With new fintech programs underway, UNF is committed to addressing the immediate and future talent needs of our region and beyond.” The University is currently developing a fintech master’s program and undergraduate minors for students in CCEC and CCB as well as a new fintech certificate.

The keynote speaker for the UNF FinTech Symposium is Annie DeStefano, vice president of partnerships and banking solutions at FIS and former Silicon Valley Bank fintech director.
