UNF celebrates outgoing Interim President Pam Chally

Interim President Pam Chally farewell partyMembers of the Osprey community recently gathered to celebrate outgoing Interim President Pam Chally and her many contributions to the University of North Florida during her tenure at UNF.

UNF Board of Trustees Chair Kevin Hyde announced that the reflection pond in front of the Brooks College of Health will be dedicated in her honor.

Dr. Chally’s career at UNF has spanned nearly 30 years, serving as a dedicated professor and mentor helping nursing students prepare for careers in healthcare, as dean of the Brooks College of Health as well as interim provost and interim president. In these positions, Chally raised millions of dollars in funding, worked to improve performance-based funding metrics, oversaw increases in enrollment and Pell Grant recipients, and reduced costs by integrating Students Affairs into Academic Affairs.

Dr. Chally has been the recipient of numerous University awards and honors including being named a Distinguished Professor; receiving the Transformational Leadership Award, the Susan B. Anthony Award, and the Desmond Tutu Peace and Reconciliation Award to name a few; as well as earning exceptional ratings as a teacher and administrator.

In a recent message, Dr. Chally recently shared her love and gratitude with the campus community.
