Animals on Campus

Overview

This page details the requirements for bringing an animal to campus. Animals that fall within the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are exempt from these requirements.

Special Events

Events that include animals (dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, etc.) must be submitted for approval no later than 14 days prior to the date of the event. To request approval send an email that includes the following information to ehs@unf.edu:

1. Date of the event.
2. Time and duration of the event (include all time the animal will be on campus)
3. Evidence of general liability insurance with University of North Florida Board of Trustees named as an additional insured.
4. Roster of animals attending (include name, species and owner).
5.  Current vaccination record.
6. All people interacting with the animal must sign release forms.
