The Center for the Advancement of Engineering

The University of North Florida's College of Computing, Engineering and Construction is proud to offer this scholarship sponsored by The Center for the Advancement of Engineering.

Our mission is to improve the economy by utilizing human resources to a fuller potential through active engagement in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of students in the field of engineering. 

Criteria

Successful applicants must:

  • Meet admission requirements and be accepted at the University of North Florida
  • have earned a weighted high school GPA of 3.8 or higher or be awarded an International Baccalaureate diploma at the time of enrolling at the University of North Florida
  • be a new student to the University of North Florida for the year of this scholarship or a continuing student with an Engineering major and a UNF GPA of at least 3.4
  • be seeking an undergraduate degree in Engineering

Preference will be given to applicants who:

  • have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of Engineering, Computing, or Construction through engagement in student clubs, volunteer work, or other activities

Responsibilities

Scholarship recipients must:

  • enroll full-time (12+ credit hours) in the semester the scholarship is awarded (a senior who will graduate at the end of the semester and who is otherwise eligible may be awarded the scholarship for less than 12 credit hours)
  • maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0
  • remain in good standing as a student
  • make satisfactory academic progress toward an engineering degree
  • comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus
  • consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the Donor
  • Continue to actively support the advancement of women in Engineering, Computing, or Construction

Renewal

Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending funding availability and if the applicant continues to meet all selection criteria and responsibilities. No student will be eligible to receive more than eight (8) semesters of scholarship support.

The amount of the award will be determined by the fund manager. Still, it cannot exceed the maximum cost of tuition, books, campus housing, meal plan, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses, as reflected in the annual "Cost of Education" budget prepared by the UNF Financial Aid Office.
