Sculpture Iron Pour heats up campus

Students pouring iron into a moldThe University of North Florida’s sculpture program recently brought the heat to campus during its annual Iron Pour event. This immersive, interactive event invites the community out to experience the unique art of sculpture. Participants purchase a scratch block tile made of sand and carve shallow-relief designs to create a mold. Next, the sculpture students pour molten liquid iron into the blocks to cast the patterns in iron. Participants need no prior experience and all money raised goes directly back to the UNF sculpture program. The next spring Iron Pour is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2024.
