Construction management students win 2nd at AIC Ethics Competition

The Construction Management Ethics Team posing in front of the UNF 'Construction Management Department' sign.The University of North Florida’s Construction Management (CM) Ethics Team was recently awarded second place at the 2023 Virtual American Institute of Constructors (AIC) Ethics Competition and junior Emily Rossello was selected as the best presenter. This is the third year in a row that the UNF CM team has placed in the top spots, having previously earned second place in 2021 and first place in 2022.

The team of undergraduate students included Brent Akers as team leader, Emily Rossello, Alexis Hall and Zaid Kasser, led by academic advisor Dr. Jonghoon “John” Kim, assistant professor of construction management.

The team analyzed a real-world problem statement related to unprofessional and unethical behavior in the construction contract process, and was tasked with writing an essay and delivering an oral presentation to showcase their analysis and proposed solutions to the industry judges.
