UNF Preschool hosts art show ‘Through the Eyes of a Child’

The University of North Florida Preschool and Parent Association recently hosted the first art show and gallery reception to showcase artwork created by the preschoolers throughout the year. The two-day “Through the Eyes of a Child” exhibit was hosted at the UNF Gallery of Art. Over 50 families attended the opening reception.

The children were thrilled to see their creative art projects made from a wide variety of materials such as

paint, sticks, seashells and clay, hanging in a real gallery exhibit. Aisling McDonald, adjunct sculpture professor and Preschool art studio teacher, led the concept, design and installation of the exhibit with her professional, artistic touch.

The event was used to unveil the rendering design for the new outdoor classroom and sensory gardens plan. Fundraising efforts for this new sensory-oriented learning space will begin this summer.
