UNF Taylor Leadership Institute offers world-renowned online leadership training
The Taylor Leadership Institute at the University of North Florida recently offered the world-renowned online leadership training program, Day One Direct, to graduate students pursuing master’s degrees and degree concentrations in leadership. UNF students participating in the online training program had the opportunity to help identify their personal key values and create their own personalized daily leadership behaviors. A grant from Florida Blue and the generosity of the training’s creator and host, Drew Dudley, provided for the training.
Day One Direct is an interactive one-on-one online training experience with dynamic leadership expert, author and inspirational TED speaker, Drew Dudley. The course features a step-by-step process designed to surface core leadership values and embed them into daily behavior. The training can be used as a roadmap to behavioral changes proven to increase commitment, pride, productivity and happiness, and provides insights into key leadership values linked to improved performance and impact.
“I have been friends with Drew since 2018 after he came to UNF as a featured speaker for our first annual Leadership Awards Ceremony,” said Matthew Ohlson, associate professor and director of the Taylor Leadership Institute. “Since that time, has led numerous leadership development sessions and has augmented our curriculum to focus on how to develop the leader in every UNF student!”
The Taylor Leadership Institute (TLI) facilitates both curricular and co-curricular leadership education, emphasizing the promotion and reward of personal, civic and community engagement through rigorous and innovative programs that advance student leadership development. TLI facilitates leadership education and development of students by offering an in-depth study of leadership from a theoretical perspective, balanced with practical, personal and workforce application.
The intentional study and practice of leadership sets students apart, providing students with the tools to leverage their life experience as they draw upon their academic curriculum on how to become effective, ethical and value-based leaders with a commitment to excellence, accountability, and responsibility to the real world and workforce.
