Giving Day supports UNF’s unique programs, initiatives and scholarships

University of North Florida alumni, faculty, staff, families UNF Giving Day, Swoop and Support 3.10.2021 with blue and gray confettiand friends from near and far will “SWOOP” together to support a variety of programs, causes and scholarships at UNF during the annual Giving Day on Wednesday, March 10.

Last year, Giving Day successfully raised $338,400 from more than 1,200 generous donors making a direct impact on the campus experience the University can provide for students.

This year, participants can choose to support specific UNF colleges and academic programs such as the Brooks College of Health and School of Engineering collaborative pediatric Adaptive Toy Project as well as initiatives from student affairs, athletics, campus wide diversity projects, scholarships and more.

Many campus wide initiatives and key student programs including the Lend-A-Wing Pantry and Frederick and Ophelia Tate Ogier Gardens receive support from Giving Day. Giving Day funds for these projects will be used to raise money for farming/gardening equipment to help with food planting, production, and harvesting and salary supplements for the Gardens, which provide fresh produce for UNF students through the Lend-A-Wing Pantry.

Gifts can also be directed to services which benefit students who are experiencing mental, physical or financial need such as the Counseling Center resources and funds such as UNF’s Greatest Needs and the UNF Student Emergency Relief Fund, along with a project for first generation student success.

In addition, there are a variety of diversity and inclusion initiatives that donors can help support, including the Intercultural Center for Peace, Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship, UNF Women’s Center, UNF LGBTQ Center, Interfaith Center, Noor Inayat Khan Interfaith Scholarship and the African American Faculty and Staff Association Scholarship.

UNF Giving Day is all about participation – gifts of any and all sizes coming together to support a variety of causes and programs that make the UNF student experience so special and unique. Visit givingday.unf.edu on March 10 to make your impact.
